6 Tips to Find a Good MLM Mentor

mlm mentor

It's essential to find a good MLM Mentor

The success of a person new to the network marketing industry is largely determined by the coaching offered by their MLM mentor. New members are often confused or frustrated because the novice MLM mentor may not be effectively supporting their team.

On many occasions people are completely ditched by their upline soon after joining, or their uplines may be extremely difficult to contact and unwilling to spend time coaching their new recruits. This has distorted the image of MLM training to a great extent.

The fact is, the role of an MLM upline is to act as a mentor. If you’re new to MLM, you aren’t expected to possess adequate knowledge or a basic understanding of how to run your network marketing business.

Therefore, initial guidance is needed to ensure that you have the tools to help your business succeed. A good MLM mentor also helps new marketers set their own goals, identify measures to be taken to achieve their goals and guide them so that they follow the right path towards success.

Once they refer you into the program, it will NOT become your mlm mentor’s personal responsibility to look after you and ensure your success. In an MLM business, the results of one person quickly becomes the success of many the team members but each member is expected to pull their own weight.

Here are a few tips to consider before choosing an mlm mentor

1. There are many coaches and experts out there, but you should consider someone with a successful background and proven experience in the kind of marketing you would like to do as your primary upline. Not all of them have adequate knowledge about MLM training, online marketing or how to get you started quickly (which we’ll cover below).

2. Since you will be spending a lot of time working with this professional, you will need to at least like them in order to have a good working relationship. If you’re clashing with him all the time, it won’t be worth your time and efforts.

3. While choosing a personal mlm mentor and coach, you should look for a person who is easily available or accessible and is also a full time marketer. If you’re following someones system, it’s important to setup a schedule to follow and points of accountability for hte success of your business.

4. You may want to study training programs as you proceed in your business. Your mentor should have a clear plan on how to train you after discussing your goals, availability and current skillset. Webinars are often available by other leaders who have years of experience under their belt, know the ins and outs of the business model itself, and have developed successful strategies for staying ahead of the curve. Your mentor should be able to plug you into these systems.

You can also consider personal coaching with an MLM mentor

In this process, a cost is typically involved, but if you are hooked up with the right one then the results in your business can be invaluable. I’ve consulted with dozens of mentors over my professional career, and consider personal development an integral part of my (and my teams) weekly routines.

A good MLM mentor pays attention to your mental attitude and can help you work through any of the usual emotional roadblocks that crop up.

Your mlm mentor can help shield you from making the same mistakes that they themselves experienced, as well as the people in their team. This not only shortens your learning curve but also reduces frustration and drop out rates. Many times I can tell in just a few minutes where someone is stuck, and suggest a tool or training that can get them past that block in their business.
