This Plugin Revolutionizes the Autoresponder

If you’ve done any online marketing in your day you know that it’s getting harder to sell products directly through email follow up campaigns. Today I’ll share with you my take on a few reasons why, and a plugin that may be the most revolutionary tool since the autoresponder itself.

One reason response is down is simply because people receive considerably more email than they did a few years ago.

Think about how many messages you receive in a given day. And you may even have a few different accounts, each with spam and legitimate mail to wade through on a daily basis. As a marketer, it’s getting harder to stand out from the crowd.

But more importantly, people may not even be giving you their best email address!

I personally have several accounts, and tend to sign up for squeeze pages using the same throwaway email account.  So if you have an email follow up campaign, how do you ensure you are reaching someone at their best email address? The one they check every day?

Why not have them opt in using the address they use on their Facebook account?

If you could get people to opt into your list by using their facebook email address, without even entering it, do you think that would increase your campaign performance?

If that sounds useful to you, you may want to check out FBConnecter.

This WordPress plugin works by plugging itself into the Facebook API, allowing you to collect optin details from the users Facebook profile, and insert them directly into your autoresponder. It works with all major autoresponders and uses Facebook authentication to pull your lead’s Facebook name and email address when they agree to a familiar dialog box.

Your lead doesn’t have to type their name.

Your lead doesn’t have to type their email address. Yet you get their best email address.

And it’s collected and published into your list, automatically!

Pretty sweet huh?

Your lead clicks the “connect with facebook” button, agrees to the facebook style dialog box and is shown your “thank you” page while being subscribed to your autoresponder in the background. Here’s an example of the FBConnector button on the default squeeze page.

Consider these bullets for a couple of ways you can use FBConnecter effectively:

  • Drive traffic from Facebook PPC campaigns to a squeeze page on your blog.
  • Drive traffic from Facebook to custom tabs on your fan page.

By targeting prospects that are already logged into Facebook you’re able to remove the opt-in box altogether.

I’ve split tested several campaigns using these methods and noted a considerable increase in conversion and ROI.
