If you run a website, you know that ranking on the first page of Google is critical to get organic traffic for your business, but did you know that you can monitor your rankings and see where you stand for a variety of keywords in the SERPs?
I’ve used a few different tools for this over the years to achieve this, but today I wanted to share with you a free tool that you can use on a Mac or a PC to automatically monitor your ranking. The program is called CuteRank and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite new pieces of software.
So how does CuteRank work?
I have it configured to check once a day for any changes in ranking for my campaigns, and automatically update the reports in real time. The initial setup is simple and takes less than 2 minutes. You enter your website and some keywords you’d like to monitor, and set what search engines and country you’d like to monitor rankings for.

A few minutes after you save and run your account, CuteRank will cull and save your data for review. The ability to automatically track each keyword and how it has ranked gives a quick visual indication of how a campaign has done over time. This data is useful for monitoring SEO and promotional efforts.

Contained in the settings are options to use automatic scheduling, proxies and some other goodies you can read on their site, but the power of CuteRank is in its simplicity. It does one job well. Monitoring your keyword ranking in SERPs. Simply set it up, let it run and monitor the results over time. Automation is key.
CuteRank is offered either as a free or a paid program. The paid version gives you access to monitor multiple domains, reporting and some other useful features. I’ve upgraded and consider it a worthwhile investment, but it’s a nice option to be able to try out the free version first and see if it suits your needs.
The customer service is excellent as well, which is so important nowadays. During setup, I encountered some results that weren’t showing up correctly, but was able to resolve this quickly by reading their documentation and making the needed adjustment to the configuration. Hint-don’t check too often if you have a lot of keywords. Updating the results once a day works for my needs.
If you are looking for a powerful, lightweight tool to automate the monitoring of your results in SERPs I would definitely suggest checking out CuteRank.

This a some piece of software! I’ve used it for months now, and it’s really good. But you have to be aware of Google blocks you if you do not use it correctly.
